A noise. The cerebrum turns into a sparkling field of rhythmic flare-ups, between which chains of sparks dart back and forth. The brain has awakened; consciousness returns. It is as if the Milky Way were starting a cosmic dance. In an instant, the cortex becomes a magic loom where millions of flashing shuttles weave patterns, which despite their ephemeral nature are always filled with meaning, uniting all their subsidiary elements in a changing harmony. While the awakened body begins to move, elements of this grand harmonic activity penetrate into the still darkened courses of the brain's lower regions. Like lightning, chains of rushing sparks bridge the gap. The body has awakened and arises to the work of a new day.
