Laughing Squid recommends monochrom’s book “Context Hacking”

Laughing Squid likes our new book and recommends it. Excellent!

Austrian art and technology group monochrom discusses their unique brand of disruptive art-making in their new book, Context Hacking: Some Examples of How to Mess with Art, the Media System, Law and the Market. The book is edited by Günther Friesinger, Johannes Grenzfurthner and Frank Apunkt Schneider and is available in the U.S. at Abe Books. Grenzfurthner will be discussing the book in an upcoming tour of California, check monochrom’s news feed for details.

The group monochrom refers to its working method as
“Context Hacking”, thus referencing the hacker culture, which propagates
a creative and emancipatory approach to the technologies of the digital
age, and in this way turns against the continuation into the digital
age of a centuries-old technological enslavement perpetrated through
knowledge and hierarchies of experts.
