Folks, we received an email. And so we removed this page.
There is a mirror... but we are in no way related to the people running this site.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I assist with the management of Lonely Planet Publications brands, trademarks and URL addresses. It has been brought to our attention that a contributor on your site by the name of Stefan Tiron is advocating the creation and distribution of imitation Lonely Planet guidebooks, which contain inaccurate content, in order to deliberately mislead travellers (http://www.monochrom.at/lpg/).

As you may know, the Lonely Planet name is very well known, and is recognizable in many countries as a publisher of high quality travel information and content. For over 30 years we have worked to build a reputation in the Lonely Planet name, and it is the subject of trade mark protection in a large number of countries internationally, and is the cornerstone of Lonely Planets extensive trade mark portfolio.

We believe Stefan Tirons action constitutes an infringement of Lonely Planet's rights and potentially very damaging to the Lonely Planet brand.  As publisher of the content on the www.monochrom.at website, we consider Monochrom to be aiding Mr Tiron in his actions.  Accordingly, we ask you to remove this material from your website as a matter of urgency.

Please confirm receipt of this email, and also confirm that the relevant material has been removed from the www.monochrom.at website.   Lonely Planet reserves its rights to take further action in this matter.

Regards,
