\n\tUrban Hacking<\/em>, as a book, tracks numerous strategies, including
\n\tAugmented Reality interventions, billboard alteration, graffiti, tags,
\n\tand greening, as a kind of “programmable literature”, made possible
\n\tthrough open sourcing of code and the artistic re-use of place. From
\n\tthis admixture, we have the foundations of an urbanism made by and for
\n\t“the people” which, at the same time as interrogating the fabric of
\n\tspaces overtaken, outsourced, managed and mined, hales radical, digital
\n\tcultures, and opens surfaces for dialogue with urban environments from
\n\twithin a post-colonial critique. The book is an attempt, I would argue,
\n\tto identify strategies for the problem spaces which might be creatively
\n\tdetourned, delimited, or re-designed. It articulates the problem of
\n\tpoliticized urban art as requiring a much-needed re-invention of itself,
\n\ton toothier terms.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\n\tBut, the book is, also, self-consciously, historical. There is a
\n\tchapter on Lenin’s vision for the center of Lviv, for instance, which
\n\tshows how he re-engineered the monuments and central squares of that
\n\tcity.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
