\n\tMonochrom went on to have various installations such as the
\n\tUnterzoegersdorf computer (which ran on a coal furnace one had to shovel
\n\tcontinuously in order for another person to be able to play Tetris) as
\n\twell as various Unterzoegersdorf installations. \u00a0There was one
\n\tespecially interesting moment when they were kicked out of a computer
\n\tconvention as the Unterzoegersdorf representative with the
\n\tUnterzoegersdorf camera man was borderline-trolling party-goers, perhaps
\n\toffensive to Disney officials running the convention. \u00a0The
\n\tUnterzoegersdorf representative also, for purposes of art, had the wild
\n\texperience of eating a glob of wasabe \u2018not knowing what wasabe is\u2026 and
\n\tdeciding that it was capitalist posion\u2019. \u00a0Of course, one assumes the
\n\tUnterzoegersdorf camera man was using a modern camera, something the
\n\tUnterzoegersdorf representative did not even seem to notice as being
\n\tastounding.\n\t<\/p>\n

\n\tOne particular event they did was particular applicable to this
\n\tdiscussion. \u00a0The website boing boing hired Monochrom to do a viral video
\n\tfor Cheetos, paying them a sum of a few thousand dollars. \u00a0Monochrom
\n\tsaw a prime opportunity to further explore capitalist relationships with
\n\ttheir very anti-capitalist characters. \u00a0The results are below. \u00a0I
\n\tinvite you to take the time to watch all 6 segments. \u00a0It is delightful.\n\t<\/p>\n

\n\tUnterzoegersdorf\/Cheetos Campaign<\/a>\n\t<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile amusing, one cannot help but think that the compete rage of the
\n\tSoviet Unterzoegersdorf characters, in part jest, at being \u2018tricked\u2019
\n\tand \u2018used\u2019 to promote a very Capitalist-foodstuff but in part
\n\tseriousness \u2014 for Unterzoegersdorf-ians to find their livelihood but a
\n\t\u2018colony\u2019 of the Global Economy. \u00a0While Cheetos is featured heavily in
\n\tthe dialogue as the center of conflict, the nature of the Monochrom\u2019s
\n\ttension is more on the side of Unterzoegersdorf-ians trying to figure
\n\tout what to make of the raw junk of Capitalism. \u00a0It may benefit Cheetos
\n\tonly to be repeatedly mentioned and pondered \u2014 we laugh because the
\n\tweird orange coloring DOES smear all over our hands. \u00a0In fact, we are
\n\treminded of Cheetos and that may be enough to make our mouth water (or
\n\twince) in association. \u00a0Larger questions remain largely unexamined What
\n\tshould we make of our own economic proliferation? \u00a0How should we come to
\n\tterms with ourselves? \u00a0In an exploration of Unterzoegersdorf we come to
\n\tface ourselves as Other \u2014 perhaps in what only great works of Art do \u2014
\n\treflected back to ourselves our own values in negativity, as dissymmetry
\n\tand excess, the best non-linguistic analysis of all, something even
\n\tEmmanuel Levinas refuses to see \u2014 when he preaches of the acceptance of
\n\tthe Other but cannot accept those \u2018asiatic hordes\u2019\u00a0which surround
\n\tIsrael\u2026 and refuses to deal with them as citizens of humanity\u2026\n\t<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
