\n\tWhen Tizzy<\/a> mentioned an event called “Arse Elektronika” (Sex, Tech Conference Arse Elektronika Kicks Off in S.F.<\/a>)\u00a0a
\n\tfew weeks ago, I knew I had to attend some of the events taking a place
\n\tover four days just\u00a0across\u00a0the bridge in San Francisco. I had a feeling
\n\tit was going to be a big ole brain-gasm, and I was right!<\/p>\n\tIn its 7th year, Arse Elektronika<\/a> is a lot of things packed into a long weekend all around the city that embodies sexuality and technology. According to Mission Local<\/a>, <\/em>“With
\n\tmore than 20 presentations over four days earlier this month, Arse
\n\tElektronika 2013 attracted some 125 hackers, makers, artists, porn stars
\n\tand activists of all backgrounds and gender identities.”<\/p>\n\t“From the depiction of a vulva in a cave painting to the newest
\n\tinternet porno, technology and sexuality have always been closely
\n\tlinked. No one can predict what the future will bring, but history
\n\tindicates that sex will continue to play an essential role in
\n\ttechnological development…”<\/p>\n\tThis is the lead in to a video of the techiest porn you will ever see<\/a>: a fucking (literally) robot giving it all to a woman behind a curtain. This is the<\/em> physical embodiment of the weekends events.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tI’m reminded of a some of the sex toys I’ve come across (specifically, the Sqweel 2<\/a> and the Fun Factory Stronic<\/a>),
\n\tbut this is obviously\u00a0something much more than the sum of its parts.
\n\tThis is another level. The robot holds all the toys and\u00a0patiently\u00a0fucks
\n\ther brains out. The intersection between advances of
\n\ttechnology,\u00a0creativity\u00a0of the mind, and our animalistic sex drives is
\n\tthe\u00a0embodiment\u00a0of the weekends events, which are made up of many
\n\tdistinct and\u00a0nuanced\u00a0talks, parties, and demonstrations, like the one
