Aguas Calientes, Peru. This town acts as the gateway to Machu Picchu, and a style of painting popular there depicts the Machu Picchu ruins in the manner of heavy metal album cover art. I think this an imaginative and appropriate blending of subject and style-- I don"t consider it "bad art" at all, although it is clearly restaurant art created for a particular place. pspinrad |
